| Narrative |
 |
| By the time he was 16, Adriel became serious about composing, drawing influences from the Seattle Grunge era. Work with a talented drummer resulted in a musical chemistry of punchy riffs and rich melody. Such advanced lyrics at an early age astonished some with his political/ introspective overtones. He knew there was promise when people offered money for practice tapes of just him and the drummer. The two auditioned musicians over five years, always finding musicians wanting to buy a CD, but not to join the band. Lack of luck led to them going separate ways, a bit hurt but still believing in the music.
Adriel worked with other musicians, but became upset at how watered down his songs became. A search led to moving across the mountains to Seattle. Once in Western Washington, he again searched tirelessly to find the right musicians.
Another year of disappointment made Adriel recluse. Listening to New Age/ World acts Jesse Cook & Dead Can Dance, Adriel noticed that there were only one or two contributors, the rest were hired musicians. Inspired he turned away from mainstream music and began listening to European bands, soundtrack composers, flamenco and anything evoking raw emotion. Using alternate tunings & exotic scales to mimic the sounds he heard, his style progressed, at times completely off the beaten path.
The process took years, and the musical evolution continues as he keeps searching for the perfection he hears in his head. This is Adriel's music |
