| The Electric Company, a progressive rock band from Borden-Carleton, Prince Edward Island, was born in a cramped and inadequate practice room in 1999. Lead vocalist and bassist Joshua Kilbride, drummer Jason Neary, and guitarists Craig Campbell and Kevin Compton were high school renegades doing covers of their favorite songs. After playing as a cover band at local shows for a few years, The Electric Company began to focus on more original compositions. The members of The Electric Company are now university students amassing campus-wide prestige.
Band influences range from Metallica, Megadeth, and Iron Maiden, to Dream Theater, Satriani, and Symphony X.
The Electric Company is frequently played on campus radio, was reviewed by Mount Allison University’s independent student journal as “musical wizards”, and the band’s music has been described by recording engineer Bob Stright as “a musical journey”. As well, The Electric Company was recently profiled in the April edition of P.E.I.’s arts and entertainment magazine, The Buzz.
